Putnam County R-I School District Announces Inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame Class

UNIONVILLE, MO — The Putnam County R-I School District is proud to announce the inaugural class of the Putnam County Athletic Hall of Fame, a new tradition established to recognize and celebrate the outstanding athletes, coaches, contributors, and supporters who have helped shape the rich history of Putnam County athletics.

After months of planning and a community-wide nomination process, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee has completed its work and selected the first class of inductees. These individuals represent excellence in competition, leadership, sportsmanship, and dedication to Putnam County athletics.

The inaugural Hall of Fame Class of 2026 includes:

Each inductee has made a lasting impact on Putnam County athletics and will forever be recognized among the school's greatest representatives.

The induction ceremony will be held on Friday, September 25 as part of the 2026 Homecoming Celebration. Family members, former teammates, coaches, alumni, and community members are invited to attend as Putnam County honors these remarkable individuals. Additional details regarding the daily schedule will be announced soon.

"The Athletic Hall of Fame was created to preserve our school's athletic history and recognize the people who built the tradition that continues today," said Athletic Director Calvin Heidenwith. "This inaugural class represents generations of excellence, and we are excited to celebrate their accomplishments while inspiring future Midgets to leave their own legacy."

The Putnam County Athletic Hall of Fame will serve as a permanent tribute to those whose achievements have brought pride to the school and community. A Hall of Fame display located in the high school will honor each inductee and preserve their stories for future generations.
