A New Free Resource for Putnam County R-I Families📱

We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Putnam County R-I Schools and Parent ProTech — a trusted platform designed to help families navigate the digital world and keep children safe online.
From smartphones to social media, today’s technology brings both opportunities and risks. As parents, it can feel overwhelming to keep up. That’s where Parent ProTech comes in.

What is Parent ProTech?

Parent ProTech is a free resource for all PCR-I families that provides:
✅ Quick Videos & Guides – Learn how to set parental controls, monitor apps, and manage screen time.
✅ Trending Tech Updates – Stay current on the platforms your kids are using, from TikTok to gaming apps like Roblox and Fortnite.
✅ Conversation Starters – Tools to help you talk with your child about screen time, privacy, and healthy online habits.
Monthly Updates – Fresh content each month, including September’s theme: Digital Citizenship — Is your child gaming with friends…or strangers?
✅ K-12 Curriculum – Educators also have access to a digital citizenship curriculum aligned with SB 351 requirements.

Why It Matters

  • Over 500,000 online predators are active daily (FBI)
  • Kids who spend 3+ hours a day on social media double their risk of anxiety and depression (US HHS)
  • Youth ages 8–18 average 6–9 hours of screen time daily (Common Sense Media)
With Parent ProTech, families gain tools to build safe, healthy tech habits that align with our CSIP goal of supporting the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally.
