Celebrating Character Education and Excellence at PCHS

At Putnam County R-I Schools, we believe in celebrating the outstanding character and achievements of our students and staff. On Monday, January 27, 2025, our Putnam County High School (PCHS) students and staff gathered in the PCMS Auditorium after lunch for a special assembly. Hosted by our dedicated Student Council members, alongside Mrs. Fleshman and Mrs. Klinginsmith, the event honored several individuals for their exceptional contributions to our school and community. 

We were also joined by a special guest, Tom Keedy from the Unionville Rotary Club, to present the January 2025 Rotary Student of the Month award. Congratulations to Elijah Jarman for earning this prestigious recognition. Elijah was selected for his exemplary character, service-minded attitude, friendliness, and honesty. Thank you, Elijah, for representing the best of what it means to be a PCHS student.

Next, we celebrated our Career and Technical Education Students of the Month:

January 2025: Ryder Unruh Recognized for his outstanding contributions to DECA, including recruiting new members and volunteering at halftime events like Chuck A Duck. Ryder’s positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to serve make him a role model in and out of the classroom. December 2024: Luke Aguilar  Honored for his dedication to FBLA and his leadership in organizing the Shoot for Cash fundraiser during halftime events. Luke’s friendly demeanor and welcoming spirit set a great example for his peers.

Chad Wysocki: January Character Education Winner for Gratefulness Our January Character Education Winner was also recognized for exemplifying this month’s theme: Gratefulness. Congratulations to Chad Wysocki for his ever-present smile, positive energy in the hallways and classrooms, and constant display of gratitude. Chad, your attitude is contagious, and we’re proud to call you a Midget! Mr. Kyle Fleshman: Staff Member of the Month Finally, we concluded with a heartfelt celebration of our January 2025 Staff Member of the Month, Mr. Kyle Fleshman. Selected by the PCHS Student Council and Student Body, Mr. Fleshman was honored for his easygoing personality, high expectations, and ability to make learning fun. As a math teacher, he inspires students to tackle challenging subjects with confidence. As a basketball coach, he helps student-athletes excel by playing to their strengths and staying calm under pressure. Thank you, Mr. Fleshman, for your dedication to excellence both in the classroom and on the court.
