The Putnam County High School Band had a momentous evening on Monday, November 18, 2024, as several of our talented students participated in Truman State University's Honor Band concert. These exceptional musicians demonstrated their dedication to music education and represented Putnam County with pride.
The following students were selected to perform in this prestigious event:
  • Freshman: Alaina Roberts – Clarinet
  • Sophomores: Lyllian Stout – Tenor Sax, Trista Sarver – Bass Clarinet
  • Juniors: Bowdy Wood – Tuba, Jocelyn Valentine – Clarinet, Wyatt Jones – Clarinet, Calvin Ruiz – Percussion
The honor band event brought together some of the finest high school musicians from across the region, creating a collaborative and enriching experience for all participants. Under the expert direction of Truman State University’s music faculty, our students were challenged to expand their skills and perform at an advanced level.
We extend our gratitude to Mr. Waugh, who continues to inspire and guide our students in their musical journeys. His commitment to fostering a love of music and supporting students’ growth is invaluable to our school and community.
Congratulations to these outstanding young musicians for their hard work and achievement. You’ve made Putnam County proud! 🎶
Let’s continue to support our students as they pursue excellence in music education.

Save the date and help us celebrate our music education students in middle and high school at our Christmas Concert, scheduled for December 14, at 6:00 pm.
